Precautions for aerial work platform
The safety of high-altitude operation is a problem that every high-altitude worker should pay attention to:
1. Any work carried out at a height of 2 meters or above shall be considered as work at height. All work that can be done in advance on the ground shall be done on the ground to minimize work at heights.
2. Personnel who are in good health, suffering from mental illness, epilepsy, hypertension, heart disease and other diseases that are not suitable for working at heights identified by doctors are not allowed to participate in work at heights. It is forbidden to work at heights when the staff are found to be drinking or listless.
3. Scaffolds must be erected or fall prevention measures must be taken before work at heights.
4. When working on the dam crest, steep slope, roof, cliff, pole tower, suspension bridge and other dangerous edges, safety nets or protective railings shall be installed on the free side, otherwise the staff must use safety belts.
5. Ice, snow, gravel and soil on the site of cliff, steep slope or sidewalk must be cleaned frequently, and a 1m high railing must be set on the outside side. A side board or ridge with a height of 18 cm shall be set inside the railing to prevent falling objects from injuring people.
6. When working on the scaffold without scaffold or railing, and the height is more than 1.5 meters, safety belt shall be used or other reliable safety measures shall be taken.
7. The safety belt shall be checked before use, and the static load test shall be carried out regularly (every 6 months). The test load is 225 kg, and the test time is 5 minutes. After the test, check whether there is deformation, fracture, etc., and make test records. Unqualified safety belts shall be handled in time.
8. The hook or rope of the safety belt shall be hung on the solid and firm component or the steel wire rope specially used for hanging the safety belt. It is prohibited to hang on moving or unstable objects.
9. Tool bags shall be used for work at heights. Larger tools shall be tied to firm components with ropes and shall not be placed randomly to prevent accidents from falling from high places.
10. When working at heights, except for relevant personnel, no one is allowed to walk or stay below the workplace. The workplace should be fenced or equipped with other protective devices to prevent falling objects from hurting people. If working on a grid type platform, wood boards should be laid to prevent tools and equipment from falling.
11. It is not allowed to throw tools and materials up and down. They should be fastened with ropes and hoisted down or up to avoid hurting the workers below or damaging the scaffold.
12. When the upper and lower layers are working at the same time, a tight and firm protective partition, canopy or other isolation facilities shall be erected in the middle, and the staff shall wear a helmet.
13. Work in the open air at a height below minus 10 degrees in winter. If necessary, a warm rest place should be set up near the construction area. The heating equipment should be managed by a specially assigned person and attention should be paid to fire prevention.
14. In severe weather such as strong wind of level 6 or above, rainstorm, thunder and fog, outdoor work at heights shall be stopped.
15. It is forbidden to work on unstable structures (such as asbestos tile roofs). In order to prevent false boarding, warning signs shall be hung at necessary places of this structure.
